William "Bill" F. Lavangie Jr., 70 of Taunton Ma, rode to heaven on February 14, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. He showed true bravery in his valiant attempt to fight.
Born on March 14, 1955, in Newton Ma, he grew up in Dedham Ma. Straight out of High School worked at Hersey Spaulding and then from there he became the Tool Room Supervisor/Fleet Manager for one of the largest AC Companies in Boston. This is how he acquired his nickname “Toolman”.
Bill loved working on cars and motorcycles his whole life, while motorcycles made him the happiest. His prized possession “his baby” was his orange 442.
He was predeceased in death by his father William F. Lavangie, beloved mother Bernadette M. Lavangie, his two brother-in-laws Tom Leuthold and Paul Weir. He also leaves behind the love of his life, his wife Helane Lavangie, daughter Heather Brown and son-in-law Phil of Canton, daughter Sarah Bixby of Attleboro, and son Joel Shephard and his wife Lauren of Worcester. Bill was Nemo to his three granddaughters Ryan Lawson, Halle Brown and Catriona Brown, he loved his children and grandchildren immensely. His cherished sisters Mary MacLennan and brother-in-law Don, Michelle Weir, his twin sister Wendy Mellon and seven nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 10:00am -12:00pm at Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton Ma, followed by a private Interment at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton, Ma.
